Mediation

The AFA offers its members a well-established process for resolving disagreements, where we act as an impartial third party helping to find a mutually acceptable resolution.

As a means of resolving disputes, mediation offers a common-sense alternative.  Mediation is fast, without prejudice, inexpensive and most importantly confidential.

Mediation is a form of alternative dispute resolution. Alternative dispute resolution is an attractive option for parties involved in dispute, because they may be able to save legal costs, as well as months of drawn out and frustrating preparations for litigation.

Mediation is the most popular form of dispute resolution and involves an impartial third party guiding all involved towards a settlement on which they all agree. Their role is to gather all relevant information, identify common ground and help generate options for settlement.

Mediation is very flexible. It can take place at any time and is not limited to ordinary working days or hours. There are plenty of other good reasons to mediate including avoiding the uncertainty and dissatisfaction often experienced in court or at arbitration. Mediation is entirely confidential to all participants.

Often, a meeting on neutral territory with a trained mediator, can help avoid costly formal litigation proceedings, as well as saving valuable time.

We offer mediation as a Non-Profit Service basing our charges on incurred costs only.
