Regional Chair Bournemouth

Jo Middleton is a British entrepreneur, keynote speaker, author and investor who has built up multiple successful businesses based around her various passions. When she is not working, Jo is usually found enjoying time with her partner and their children on their small holding where they look after 2 dogs, 2 horses, 10 chickens and a cockerel called Alan!

Jo is a big believer that you never stop learning and loves reading and studying to expand her personal and professional development at every opportunity. In 2001 Jo started her first business, a Virtual Assistant business which provided small businesses with administrative support. She folded this when she found herself as a single parent of 2 in 2005 and went back to employment for a few years whilst studying Business and Book Keeping at night school. Jo undertook numerous dog behaviour and training qualifications and began helping out at local rescue centres fostering, microchipping and assessing dogs needing new homes. She is now a trustee for Homing, Kennelling and Welfare for Foreverhounds Trust who specialise in the rescue and rehabilitation of sighthounds.

In 2010 Jo set up a dog behaviour and pet care business which she grew quickly and soon had a good team of staff and a fleet of vans on the road. Jo continued her business learnings, subscribed to multiple sales and marketing courses and worked along side mentors, life and business coaches from around the world. After an incident involving one of her own dogs, Flash the lurcher, Jo recognised the need for everyone who works with dogs professionally to be trained in dog first aid. After working with veterinary professionals to put a course together, the first Dog First Aid course took place in April 2013. These courses became increasingly popular and in 2015 Jo sold the pet care business to allow her to focus solely on Dog First Aid which she subsequently took through the franchising process. Dog First Aid Franchise Ltd franchisees now provide courses Nationwide. 2018 saw the start of two new businesses – Purple Frogs Virtual Assistants and a property business.

Purple Frogs Virtual Assistants was predominantly born to provide administrative support to Jo’s other businesses however has experienced significant growth quickly and now services many other small businesses too with the fantastic range of administrative skills the “Frogs” have between them. The property business specialises in offering private investors competitive interest rates in order to purchase old, derelict commercial buildings that have been abandoned so that they can be converted into residential homes.

Jo now provides coaching and mentoring services to other business owners and runs an exciting, fresh Mastermind group for like-minded entrepreneurs running six and seven-figure businesses as well as speaking at events across the UK.
