An interview with Accentiá, Sponsor of the Franchise Network Contribution Award

Paul Mitchell, Managing Director, explains how Accentiá supports the AFA and why they made the decision to sponsor an Award.

We can’t quite believe that the AFA Awards are only two weeks away now! Amidst a whirlwind of table and menu planning, agendas and table decorations, we caught up with Paul Mitchell, Managing Director of Accentiá. Accentiá is a valued AFA Partner Member and the proud sponsor of the Franchise Network Contribution Award.

Question: Please can you tell us about your business and the products and services you provide?

Paul: Accentiá is a full service, franchise development and consultancy service. We work closely with businesses to help them expand into new, national and international markets through franchising. We have over forty years’ industry experience, gained through establishing our own, successful franchise networks, and provide a truly comprehensive service to potential franchisors, assisting them with every aspect of their franchise journey.

Question: What is your involvement with the AFA? How do you plan to support the AFA moving forward?

Paul: We are Partner Members and this is definitely set to continue. We’ve already sponsored several AFA events and believe it to be an extremely worthwhile organisation. It offers a great alternative to the BFA, as it also supports the smaller and new franchise businesses that perhaps need more help and guidance.

Question: What influenced your decision to join the AFA?

Paul: I saw it as an ideal opportunity to network within the franchising community which, after all, is Accentiá’s target audience. I’d also met Claire at a few exhibitions – I was extremely impressed with her plans for the Association’s growth and how it had already developed under her jurisdiction.

Question: Why did you decide to sponsor the AFA Awards?

Paul: As mentioned, we’ve already sponsored a few AFA events and I was particularly keen to get involved with this one, as it’s such a high-profile event. As a not-for-profit organisation, they really need their partners and members to get behind and support them to enable them to deliver worthwhile events, which will benefit the sector as a whole. I also feel this is a great way to ‘give back’ to the franchising community and raise Accentiá’s profile.

Question: Which Award are you sponsoring and what particularly excites you about this category?

Paul: We’re sponsoring the Franchise Network Contribution Award. I found it particularly exciting to read how franchisees were contributing so positively to their franchise networks. Of course, this isn’t compulsory for franchise owners, but it’s so refreshing to see franchisees going the extra mile to help each other grow their businesses. It’s great to see the AFA will be recognising and rewarding these selfless contributions at the Awards, especially as Accentiá is one of the only franchise consultancy firms to specialise in franchisee recruitment. As we all know, innovative, passionate and hardworking individuals make the best franchisees!

Question: What are you most looking forward to on the night?

Paul: I’m really looking forward to seeing all the hard work the AFA has put in over the last few years paying off! It will also be fantastic to network with other franchising professionals and watch the winners and runners up receiving the praise and recognition they deserve.
